I’m a psychotherapist (MA, RCC) who is committed to helping you find freedom from problems so that you can ultimately live the life you want to live.
My private practice is a safe, nurturing space for acceptance and growth. It’s located in a quiet, quaint community in West Vancouver, with big windows and a view of the ocean.
I have a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Seattle City University and an undergraduate degree in Education and Human Kinetics from The University of British Columbia. I’m trained in advanced Narrative Therapy and multiple Mind- Body Therapy modalities. I am also a certified Daring WayTM facilitator-consultant based on the research of Dr. Brene Brown.
I have a long history of working with adults, teens and families. My experience began as a coach, health and wellness counsellor and physical education teacher. My counselling practice is also enriched by the following life experiences: I am a daughter who lost her mother to Alzheimer’s and understands the struggles of this disease. I am also a mother of two teenagers, one of which was mislabeled by the elementary school system and required a strong advocate to help guide him through this process
I work with all types of problems people face, however I have a special interest in working with individuals struggling with body hate/shame and disordered eating practices. Having personally struggled with these problems, I moved toward making peace with my body and self one day at a time. As such, I will be with you in a compassionate, understanding and non- judgmental way as you move toward your preferred relationship with your body and self.
